Questions
Are these jazz playlists free?
Yes. Every track is a Purrple Cat Self Release under CC BY 4.0: stream it here, download the MP3 or grab a whole line as an M3U playlist.
Is this real jazz?
It is jazz-influenced lofi: original music with jazzy seventh and ninth chords, mellow keys and soft drums. It isn’t a live jazz band, and it doesn’t sample old jazz records.
How were the tracks picked?
First, only the jazzier half of the catalogue made it onto the map, by chord colour measured from the audio. Then each line takes the tracks whose energy, mood and acousticness sit closest to its feel. Only the first stop is picked by its title, so the opener fits the theme in name and sound.
Can I use the music in my videos or streams?
Yes. Free to use with credit on all social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook, X and more), and livestreams are fine. Neither the music nor remixes, samples or covers of it may be uploaded to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, because that causes false Content ID claims. Does it have vocals?
No. Every track on these jazz playlists is instrumental.
